Hey Ed

I first watched your videos on Stox poker and have to say that you were the first big influence on my game, then maybe Leatherass and Cottonseed. lol

Anyway I ended up playing 2/4 after joing as a losing NL25 player.

However now I have decided to embark on a bankroll builing challenge where I roll $50 into $5000 just to show that you do not need to be a superstar to pull this off.

I thought I'd try it after reading about Chris Ferguson in that poker player magazine.

It's hard to stay focused at times but it'll be worth it when I'm done and a big fat bottle of champagne is waiting for me when I'm done.

Well so far so good, I'll be posting about it if you want to see how I'm getting on.

<a href="http://www.tagpoker.co.uk/pages/zero-to-hero-front-page.html" rel="nofollow"> Follow My Bankroll Building Challenge</a>.

Good luck with everything

Hi Ed

Just thought I would keep you updated, I have reread SSHE and watched your videos, I also read your beggining texas holdem book (though it is really for begginers (the clus is in the title I guess)). I have reapplied aggression to my game preflop and tightened up, though I am still seeing a lot of flops in loose passive games, as I want to be in the hand against a lot of these people.

I have moved up to 25c/50c and have increased my bankroll to over 1500 now.

I am just posting this here as I want to thank you for your book and the difference it has made to my game.

I think it's main strengths are in post flop play and that is why I ran so good early on even with the weak preflop play I was employing.

Again thanks for writing such a great book I will hopefully be at the dizzying heights of $3/$6 games one day but I will take it slow.

Hope you enjoy your honeymoon and look forward to more great books from you.

Hi Peter,

In general, your progression would be a fine way to manage a bankroll. But again, I wouldn't focus so much on the money or results right now. Limit hold 'em has a lot of variance also, just like no limit. It has huge ups and downs, and you can't judge how you're playing just by whether you're on an up or a down right now. Just focus on putting in hands and then analyzing them.

PS I just thought I would point out I have played poker for over a year with a tight aggresive style at NL and NL tournaments again small stakes and have hadd moderate succes such as $1600 win by coming 9th in a field of over a thousand.

I have read every book going and studied the web but find no limit has a high stanndard deviation.

I have moved to limit so as to smooth the curves,I have had bad periods and tilted a few times.

Thanks a lot for your advice I will implement it again\and keep you posted on the results.

PS I now have $1022 after a saturday night session.

Thank you for your response.

I studued my results in poker tracker and filtered on the starting hands you suggested.

The shocking result was that I would now have made 1,700 if I had stayed tighter.

I have ordered your dvd's and am looking forward to watching them.

Can I ask if you think my bankroll management is Ok as I see this as the real secret of my succes as I don't get emotionally attached to a hand when it is "on the come" as I cann see clearly that occasionally I lose and win it back and my bankroll can handle it.

would you move up to 25c with my bankroll?
