Neteller, the DOJ, the IRS, and You

I’ve been something of a broken record in the past about the fact(s) that:

  • Gambling income is taxable in the US
  • Lots of people aren’t declaring poker income on their returns
  • The transactions are all logged, so there’s no plausible deniability if they look into your stuff
  • They will start looking into online gambling transactions, since the IRS knows there’s money to be made

So I’m not going to beat any more dead horses for the moment. Instead, I’ll link to two people who will help beat them for me:

I recommend reading Matt Maroon’s post The Taxman Cometh and Russ Fox’s post Neteller, the DOJ, and the IRS. Russ, don’t even try to come after me for cribbing your post title. I added you. That’s fair use.

Both of these blogs are on my list of recommend blogs. Check them out.

You are STILL beating a dead horse, but you are saying to yourself you are not!

Move on!

I won’t be complaining about “fair use” here — thanks for the plug.

But I say that not as a complaint but more as a depressed poker player looking for some glimmer of goodness in these dark times.

A mare morsel of happiness in my now dull and dreary world. Just a crumb of hope is what many poker players need.

While hemlines are raising with renewed optimism in America, poker players are walking around all day with a dark cloud over them, not even noticing hemlines.

I have watched my games disappear, my accounts disappear, my cash disappear, my hope disappear, and we are all looking for someone to bring light and wisdom to our now crushed lives.

I remember when you yelled at me on 2+2 about folding to one bet on the river and screaming at me “this is why you are not crushing low limits”. That was an epiphany for sure!

Yet now you have found OTHERS to beat your dead horse.

I will now crawl back into my dark and dank cave of joy and wait for the storm to roll over.

Perhaps someday . . . . . .
