I have been playing some 6-max lately.  I am finding that the game depends a bit more on fold equity and so it has been getting me thinking of committing with a different range.

Say a good player who raises a lot(steals a lot) in late position opens from the CO and I 3-bet him with something like 8d6d and the flop comes down Td6s3s.  It is checked to us, we bet an our villain pushes.  This means we are gettig about 2:1 on a call.  I came up with a range here that shows that we should fold.  However, I’m curious what you guys think about committing lighter in 3-bet pots because our villain is more likely to be trying to put a move on us.

Although the situation seems to dictate a fold here, is there any benefit to making a semi-loose call?  Also, can you give an example where you may commit a little lighter?

I never 3bet 86s unless I can bet/fold with confidence when I flop  a pair (even top pair) unless it is a shortstack situation

By committing, you mean going allin right? Obviously, if they are checkraising looser you can go allin with less.

Say I had JsJc in your example and the flop came QdTd2c, sometimes I bet and then call. This is when villain is frustrated by 3betting and decides to make a move with any pocket pair, gutshot, ten as well as hands that beat JJ.

Another time is if raise with ak hearts from button and get 3bet by a loose reraiser.  I call and the flop comes 8d9d2h  The guy checks.  I would bet and hope he checkraises allin because I am usually dominating his acehigh.  Most of the time people checkraise after 3betting they are doing something extra to make you fold.
