Hi Ed,

I know this might sound like a really general question, but I was wondering if you had some advice for NL HU play.

I mainly play SNG's where the starting stacks are 1500 with blinds at 10/20 with blinds increasing every 10 min. I also struggle at the end of tournaments though where the blinds where the M is about 20.

One particular problem is when the board pairs. I generally get outplayed on these pots giving up to a raise.

thanks,

John

I think this is a nice post on heads up play.

This nugget changed my game quite a bit.

…snip…

Another idea is never to limp on the button. Chris Ferguson explained this to me in a way even I could understand: “Having the button is a big advantage. If you always raise on your button and get called, and your opponent always limps on his button and you check, you are playing a bigger pot on every hand where you have the advantage of position, and a smaller pot when you are at a positional disadvantage.”

…snip…

A couple of other nuggets as well on how to think about the game as well.
