Ed, just wondering if you had had a chance to read the new book from 2 +2 by Stoxtrader and Zobags and what your early impressions of it are. There are a lot of differences between some of the recommendations in that book and say, the Dave Fromme expert insight shorthanded DVD's. I know Stox's book is more written with extremely high limits in mind so that may have a lot to do with it. Interested to see what my "favorite" poker expert thinks of that particular book.

I just posted a review of it on my blog. The link is:

I liked it. :) I'll be happy to talk about it further if you'd like.

Does anyone have any negatives about this book? All the reviews I've heard so far have been glowing. Definitely a book I'll have to purchase soon.

I give it two big thumbs up. Ever since I received it, I've been running rrrrrrreally good. Laughing

I see no negatives with the book. Good info. Any negatives would be outshined, outweighed, eclipsed, or otherwise deemed insignificant by the positives.

Alright, let me ask you this. For the past few years, Small Stakes Hold'em has been the bible for limit hold'em games against loose, passive opponents while Hold'em Poker For Advanced Players has been the bible for limit hold'em games against tight, aggressive opponents. Does this book replace HPFAP or is it completely different?

I would say it's the new testament.

Sounds like its more of a complement and not a replacement. I would like to see what Ed thinks about this as well.

Definitely going to pick this one up, just trying to gauge where it fits with the rest of my poker library.

I don't know about where it fits vis a vis HPFAP, but to me it's the premier book out for beating tough and shorthanded limit games. HPFAP still might be worth reading because there's more theory there and David always has a unique perspective.

Does the advice in the book apply also to heads-up onflop&postflop situations at full table?

Recently I happen to play in games, where it's folded around to the blinds, or eventually to the button and blinds.

And I noticed people are getting crazy in that spots… just like they've just read something Wink

The book focuses specifically on these situations.

Oh!

Hopefuly I don't get bankrolled-out before I get it… have to wait till next month, as shipping comes out to be cheaper when I buy more then one at a time.

Anyway, maybe american government will make a ban-promotions-out-on-this-book type of law this timeLaughing
