Now this hand is embarrassing since I should not have been in the pot in the first place. We will put it down as a lapse in judgement (do penance and move on to the flop).
I was CO with junk - Jd 4d and decided to limp after 4 players. It looked to be a volume pot and a passive 3/6 game. I was pretty sure that there would not be a raise after me - bad poker to hope/pray.
Flop: Jc 4h Kd (8 players, 8 sb)
I could not believe my eyes. 48-1 to hit 2 pair and I had a jack high bdfd to boot. What is my plan here now that I got lucky?
BB bet, 3 callers and I raised. This does not protect my hand but it does get more money in the pot.
This got 5 callers.
Turn: 8c (6 players, 9 bb)
This is getting to be a big pot. Now the BB bets. Which was a surprise. Now 2 callers.
I think for a second and decide what to do. If the BB had a better hand on the flop he would have 3-bet me. If he bet and called with K-8, J-8 then I am toast. I think that my bottom 2-pair is still good (or will be 40%) so I raise. This raise comes straight out of SSHE. The theory is that my hand will will often enough where a raise is correct - I will ask Ed his opinion. So Ed what is your opinion here?
BB calls as do 2 players.
River: Ac (4 players, giant pot)
I do not like this card. Now the BB checks, 1 player checks, MP player now bets….
To be continued.
Okay comments? 1) fold preflop. 2) ?
Thanks
