Ed has been talking about soft games in that hand he posted.
I have a small roll on one site and have been playing NL25 lately. Here’s a recent favorite hand.
NL25 - 6max
I’m dealt 77 on the button
fold, call, raise $1, hero calls, fold, all-in (~$5), fold, call
The original raiser who over calls has a stack of about 35. I have a stack of around 70. The short stack doesn’t need anything to shove and the CO isn’t screaming strength. So, I figure my 77 is going to play well against the shover given the overlay. So, I shove.
The CO now goes into the tank. In the chat, I see:
omg
JJ
He uses up his timebank and folds
My 7’s hold up and I see:
omg, omg, omfg, how can you shove that
in the chat. I don’t know. I think I played my hand face up and, had I been the villain, would have snap called with a fist pump knowing that I have some sort of middle pair. At worst he has to figure he’s flipping with overs. But that’s clearly not what he figured. Always a good time when you can push people around like that.
