I am going to be spending about a week in Charlotte on business, starting on Halloween. Anyone know of any good poker action for an out-of-towner? Anything up to 2/5 would be all right by me.

Try not to flop much after you get heads-up in Charlotte.  Just shove all-in when you get the nuts.

Natchez, Either your stack was really short, or the pot was really big. 

The last time I was with Charlotte, she had a pair in the hole.  On the flop, she had a full house.

Once you’ve been to Charlotte you can’t stay away. 

I couldn’t help myself.  I’ve been with Charlotte again.  She gave me that crazy look of hers, grabbed my hand, and as she was leading me inside said in a husky voice, “Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.  I like men who are donkeys.” After that I knew I wouldn’t have to limp in.   “You’ll have to give me something,” Charlotte said, “I won’t allow you to steal the pot.”  So I asked her what the buy-in was.   Charlotte said, “Tonight I am going to use all of my trickes to get you to raise.  When I get through with you, you'll be raising from the dead!”  Tonight I was going to be a rock.  She was erotic looking with all that paint.   I reached over and closed the blinds.  I asked her, “Do you want to make a good lay down?”  She didn’t so we got heads-up.  Face to face so to speak.  Charlotte told me, “I had better like what I see on the show down.  When I bust your Aces I hope you have at least big slick down there, and I don’t want any blanks on the end.   You better not come at me with a dead man’s hand either.  You had better be firing real bullets.” I started off on the button. I wondered what she had in the hole; top pair or a little pair.  When I saw them I told her, “Baby my bottom pair is bigger than your little pair.”  Enough of that pre-flop action; Charlotte didn’t believe in slow play.  We went directly to the flop.  When Charlotte got her hooks into me she asked if I was going for an up and down.  I countered, “Are you open ended?” “Nah,” Charlotte replied, “I don’t think a ring game would suit you.”  Charlotte was under the gun, so to speak.  I bumped her a couple times and soon I was doing my best to get a gutshot or a belly buster that would be the nuts.  I didn’t realize she was so tight.  Just as I hit my gutshot and nuts, Charlotte flushed.  She had gotten her nuts.  Hell, I didn’t care how I got the nuts, even if it was a backdoor or if it was my bottom pair.  I was poking half my stack into the pot so quick that I almost didn’t hear her when she yelled out, “Give me action!  I’m coming over the top.”  We were both all-in, and I let out a crying call.  I was on tilt.  Then I noticed that two railbird voyeurs had entered the room and were ogling the hot action.  When the river came, so did Charlotte; she had a Royal Flush!  When I splashed the pot there was no turning back for Charlotte.  She came over the top of me one more time and that finished it.  She was amazed at the amount of chips I put in the pot.  “Baby,” I said, “I didn’t tell you but I had more than a big pair.  I have quads!”

I was running good all night.
