Message Board : Adjusting to a spread limit

On the gulf coast a very popular game is the 1-4-8-8 spread limit with $1 and $2 blinds.  What adjustments should a player familiar with a Tight Agressive Limit strategy make other than the obvious of playing more speculative hands in late position when it’s cheap ($2-$3) to enter the pot?  Do pocket pairs and Top pair hands loose value in this structure or should you juice it and force the game to play like $4/$8?
