Allthough I took this pot down, I am almost certain that it was a bad play from me. When discussing it I was criticized for not re raising preflop. What do you think?

Thanks!

Why did you think it was such a bad play?  You were short stacked and had plenty of equity in the pot.

I’m on the fence on re-raising pre-flop.  As short as you were, I think it makes more sense to 3-bet, but I don’t think you should feel compelled to.  If the villain were in the cutoff or on the button, I would 3-bet most of the time.  If you 3-bet pre-flop, then you have to shove every flop and not all flops will be as good for you as this one.

As played, it isn’t all that likely that the flop hit the villain.  I think that is just agressive short-stack poker.

I think you played it pretty well.  You reach the commitment threshold with your preflop call so you should pretty much plan to commit on flops that don’t include A’s and K’s.  This is one of those flops and I like the c/r as a way to get AI.

I like it. You had position. Anyone who calls after you is likely WA/WB. It was the “Stop and Go”, which I think is usually a better way to go with a middle pair.
