What I mean to say is, WHEN would she (the shortstacker) respond with a shove?

Hi Ed

You said "If they know how to play their stack size well, you won’t really get an edge on them by doing this."

So how would a good shortstacker respond to being 3-bet light?

Thanks for this, Ed. Wish you'd posted it yesterday as this morning my SNG came down to just three of us, me with a significant chip lead, and I was basically bled dry by the aggressive play of both the short stacks. One I could have dealt with but two proved too much for me. I rarely encounter such aggression at my levels (if I do it's generally not very skillful) but now I have confirmation of what I've been mulling over all morning....that I need to adjust my play accordingly. Can't wait to take 'em on next time! lol

"Theoretically speaking, it should be harder for a short stacker to steal the blinds from the button than it is for a full stack. Short stacks blunt positional advantage, so the out of position blinds should be able to defend more frequently."

Your correct here. Everyone expects SS to sit and wait for Big cards to go all in or play aggressively with, and no one expects SS to steal blinds and play LAG. Dangerous play this is, but those who know what they are doing fair well.
