When you first sit in a limit hold ‘em cash game, most cardrooms require that you post a blind before you get your first hand. Often you have several options about where and when to post that blind. But virtually all rooms (including internet cardrooms) allow you to post a blind the size of the big blind wherever you happen to be with respect to the button. That option is often attractive if the button is directly on your left; that is, you are exactly one seat behind the button.Having posted a blind in that late position affects your preflop strategy significantly. In this series of articles, I will outline some of the major adjustments you should make when playing from a late position blind. In this article, Part 1, I will focus on the most commonly needed adjustment:

In multiway pots, you should call raises far more loosely than you would if you hadn’t posted the blind. This is particularly true for pocket pairs and suited hands.
