Hi

I find it amazing that you guys pay tax on poker winnings. In Britain all gambling has been tax free for years, we also have pension schemes which we can claim tax back on even if we haven’t paid it (thanks to the pension crisis).

I can’y help wondering why all the best players stay in America with the governments attitude towards online gambling and the tax bill you receive on it after all that..

Hi Peter,

The US does have somewhat draconian gambling laws for reasons I don’t fully understand. As for why Americans don’t leave… well, this is home. :) There are much tougher places in the world to live than America (Iraq comes to mind), yet people stay in those places also. It takes a lot to uproot yourself and move to a strange new world… but I would appreciate some love from our government one of these days.

I can’t help but think that Iraq isn’t a very nice place to be (well at least in part) living in mainly because Americans are over there bombing the hell out of them in ‘their homes’ and obviously pick off a fair few of the English at the same time *big pitiful sy*. But your right home is home and I could imagine leaving England for good (even though the occasional sunny break never goes a miss).

Hi, I just wanted to say that this is a great three part series! However, I just can’t help thinking that “Monthly nut” ought to be renamed “Monthly rake”… :)
