Hi Ed,

A quick question from a shortstacker. In GSIH, you recommend raising with 99+ AQ+ from middle position. In this article, however, your range as a deepstack is 22+ A8s+ AJ+ KJs+ KQ.

I wonder why this broader range would not be as succesful as a short stack, especially the big card hands. After all, they will build a top pair hand that is better suited to stacks with a low PSR.

The reason I ask is that after having played the basic system a lot, the tables I play at have tightened a lot against me and I'm looking to exploit this. :-)

Thanks!

I totally agree. Unless you have a great read, youre reraise with unknown hands on the left is going to be squeezed 9 out of 10 times.

Nice article, thanks for the nice tips!

Cheers

Another really interesting article. I've often wondered what I should be thinking about with a playable hand after limpers in a NL game, this really helps.

Ed, I have a question regarding cold-calling raises.

When considering calling/raising or folding, do I consider my equity vs. his range as I would in a limit game? Or does the fact that implied odds are potentially so much larger in a NL game mean I can ignore equity considerations to an extent and play a wider range, although I assume I should still avoid calling with hands that may be dominated?

(It may be that you're planning to talk about this in the next instalment about playing from late position. If so, I guess I'll just have to wait :)).
