And Going Pro for the excellent money management advice (everyone should be saving some money every month, not just pro poker players…):

Ed, in line with “Is poker getting harder” would you change your advice in “Going Pro” where you recommended playing online because of all the “bad players”? It seems that the bad players are live now, so would you change that recommendation to playing live? And would you change the bankroll requirements along with it?

Well, the bad players were always playing live. The issue has just been volume… you can play 30 hands/hour live or 300 hands/hour online. It’s hard to overcome the 10x increase in volume just through some extra bad players.

The thing is, some people who were good enough to make money online a few years ago may not be good enough anymore, so they might have to slink over to live play to turn a profit.

And, in general, online play requires somewhat bigger bankrolls for the same limits.

To be honest, all this stuff about ; Professional Texas Hold’em Tips and Strategy from Noted Poker Authority sounds confusing for me…

Any thoughts on tournament poker? It seems the only way to make any real money anymore is with endorsements and book deals!! If you don’t get your face on TV how do you get those deals? I don’t watch much TV so I don’t know many of the “big name” players. But it seems to me guys like Moneymaker, Raimer and Hachem do pretty good on the “side money”. Don’t know anything about This years winner, never heard of him before or seen him since. Same is true of Gold 2006. Where is the TV commercials and book deals for these guys? Are they just not stepping up to the plate or have I simply been haning around here reading your outstanding advice too long?
