I joined the Poker Players Alliance today. I was skeptical of them at first, which is why it took me so long to join. But I like what I’ve seen from them recently, and I decided to take the plunge.

I’m very skeptical to this date, I dont agree with many of their practices, their board of directors, or their ability to provide the clean path of donation funds that congress will look at as they are lobbying. However I am a member as well, and have been for some time. Tough love.

I also joined recently. However, I share the concerns outlined by TT, so I’ll be watching to see if and how they address these concerns. I give them my provisional support.

If someone told me that the PPA will never evolve significantly from what it is today, I wouldn’t have joined. I think it needs to change in some important ways. But organizations do evolve, and at this point my choices as a poker player are either to give the PPA a shot or not to give it a shot. Six months ago, I didn’t think it was even worth a shot. I changed my mind about that.

I recently signed up with the PPA as well. The online site Full Tilt Poker made my $20 donation much easier to stomach by offering me a $50 bonus for said donation (I have to play in a certain number of raked hands to receive it).

Without getting overly political in my comment, I just wanted to say that I can’t stand the amount of Federal interference that exists today in our lives and any organization that can increase the proximity of “Uncle Sam” to my person, is worthy of support.
