As many of you know, I’m working on a book with no-limit experts Matt Flynn and Sunny Mehta called Professional No Limit Hold ‘em. Several people have asked recently for an update on it, so here it is:

We put together a completed manuscript at the beginning of the month, ...

I’m more excited than when I was waiting for Star Wars Episode I.

Will we get a sneak preview on NPA?

Sorry, no sneak preview here. You may get one on 2+2 though.

Nothing was “wrong” with it, it just needed another go-over. It’s normal to edit and re-edit manuscripts several times before they are ready for publication.

We did send it to Mason, which was the first time he’d seen any of it… in contrast, I submitted the previous books in pieces to Mason as they were written, so this process has been a little different. Mason gave some excellent feedback that I’m incorporating into my edit.

Unfortunately, I can’t tease anything on this website. I’m sure there will be some teasing on 2+2 when the time comes.

Hey Ed
How does this book compare to No limit holdem theory and practice?

Jaimiro,

The two books barely compare. They each explore largely separate aspects of the game, and they’re written in different ways. PNLH explores one critical aspect of the game with a fair amount of focus, whereas NLHTAP is more like a survey.

Hey Ed,
I’m happy for you that an end is in sight. I know it’s ALOT of hard work.

I for one don’t need any teasers. The fact that y’all collaborated on a book and 2+2 is publishing it is already more teaser than I can handle. I’m not getting over anxious either. As a somewhat recent convert form Limit, I figure the more time I have for experience the more the book will help me.

On a pesonal note, I thought of you last night Ed. ( Because of your writing ). My no-limit game had a breakthrough . I stopped trying to win.

Anyway, looking forward to your all’s book. (=

Hi Ed,

Does the book deal with the approach and plan to a session when one joins a NL cash game? I find this a major problem for me. When I am palying a tournament, heads up or short stacked I know what I have to do as soon as I sit down… but I am often lost after an hour being dealt dead cards/mediocre holdings in a cash game. I often think that I should be mentally prepared for cash games as I am in other formats.

I am looking forward anyway to read your book.

Is there any way to pre-order a copy? Apologies if already dealt with, but I didn’t see it anywhere.
