Hooray Comments (and Beer)

Don't miss one article! Subscribe to the Full Feed RSS or get NPA in your inbox.

I added a few features to the site to make it easier to keep up with comments.

In the sidebar I added a Recent Comments section and a Top Commenters section. These sections will let you follow the most recent discussion more easily. The Top Commenters section lists the people who comment most often. People who comment most often are also naturally the most authoritative. Noted Poker Authority – where quanitity is job #1.

I also added the ability to subscribe to the comments for an individual post. First you have to post a comment in the thread of your choice. When you submit the comment, you can click a checkbox that signifies that you’d like to subscribe to the aforementioned post at the email address provided. You’ll then be notified by email of any further discussion in the thread.

Finally, this isn’t new, but I figured I’d draw your attention to it. There’s an RSS feed for the comments on the site. You can subscribe to read all the latest comments by signing up for the feed. The link for that is always available in the upper-right corner of the site.

I have plans to add some light forum software to the site to make it easier to discuss hands. I also have other, slightly more diabolical plans. If you have suggestions for things you’d like to see on the site, please comment in this post.

And hooray beer.

Hooray beer indeed! It’s my birthday tomorrow, I’m sure I can find a reason to imbibe.

Wow, I’m the second “most authoritative”? What a shock! :-o

Let me give everyone a hint – NO one should listen to ANYTHING I say, unless I am talking about something I know a little about – like investing for example.

BTW along those lines Ed I hope Stanley’s “The Millionaire Next Door” is still on your reading list. I recommend that and Clason’s excellent little book “The Richest Man in Babylon” to everyone I know. Unfortunately, very few people seem to listen… :-(

Hmmm. Can’t wait to see what that’s all about…

Considering my lack of success so far at low stakes LHE online — I’m not sure I should be!

I’d love to see some advice on game selection.

Hooray indeed. Gonna be snowed / iced in tomorrow. Easy to keep beer ice cold.

Ed, Nice to see you haven’t abandoned beer completely after your little flight up the wine tower for some AZ Pinot. :)

Not that I would ever question Your wisdom Ed, but is this top commentors thing a good idea? A reason I like this site is that it’s easy to see the important stuff without having to wade through everything else. I’m not saying people shouldn’t comment , just anyones who’s gone to 2+2 knows that 90% of the posts are a complete waste of time.

Rest assured that I will not be making additional comments just to get on the top commentors board.
