Bloggers Choice Awards Update

Don't miss one article! Subscribe to the Full Feed RSS or get NPA in your inbox.

Last week I begged encouraged people to vote for NPA in the Best Hobby Blog category of the Bloggers Choice Awards. Thanks to your votes, NPA made it to the top of the third page, but stalled there. Let’s go for another push to get NPA onto the first page! As of now, NPA needs only two more votes to be solidly on Page 2 and 15 more to crack the first page. I think we can get there. Right now NPA is the top poker blog, but we’re behind like three blogs about knitting. Embarrassing. If we give up now, we only embolden the knitters. We need to keep voting until we get the job done.

My site was nominated for Best Hobby Blog!

UPDATE [5:08pm EDT Mon]: We’re near the top of Page 2 now. Only 7 more votes needed to crack the front page. And two knitting blogs have eaten our dust.

UPDATE #2 [3:19pm EDT Tue] Woohoo! Cracked the first page. We’re at the bottom of the page, though, so keep those votes rolling in. To those who have voted, thanks a lot for all the support. :)

Awesome. Just 12 more votes to page 1. More than halfway there. :)

I dont’t know much about programming, but it sounds easy to write a bot that registers free accounts, registers and votes.

I guess that the eventual winners will come up with hundreds of thousands of votes.

Great push. Just 7 votes to the front page now. And we’ve burned 2 knitting blogs in the process. But there’s still 2 more ahead of us.

I voted quite awhile ago, but you guys are getting me all pumped up. I can’t vote anymore so I drank some single malt Glenlivet and then hung outside a crafts store and beat up 3 knitters. they won’t be voting. :)

PS. Kudos to Elaine for nominating Ed. I think the mantle of first lady of blogging will fit her well. Hope I didn’t cross any feminism lines there. :)

I’m really, really counting on the smiley face helping me out quite a bit in this thread. :)

Could you add some knitting content, maybe get some crossover votes? What about knit your own card protector?

On page one now. I really think you can win this. I noticed Bewitchedbybooks.com has an ADULT CONTENT warning next to their name. After a thorough investigation of their site I found no adult content so I think this is a ploy to get more hits. Could something similar work here? I have a photo of Greg Raymer in shorts from last year’s WSOP.
